Thirdself emanation is everything that appears to happen “outside of” my familiar physical self. It is the people, places, and things in my environment. It is the chair I am sitting in right now, and the computer I am looking at and typing on. It is the mountains in the horizon, and everything I can perceive around me.
My secondself emanation is everything that happens “inside of” me. It is my thoughts and ideas, desires, sensations, and feelings. While the chair I am looking at it is my thirdself, my sensation of it is my secondself. The fridge full of food in the kitchen is also my secondself until I emanate it physically in front of me. My second self is everything I conceive.
I can transform concepts into percepts — my secondself into my thirdself — by moving. I can think of a friend — a secondself emanation — and then manifest that friend in my thirdself by arranging to meet for lunch. There are many secondself emanations which do not explicitly manifest in my thirdself except in abstract ways, such as morality.
The most important division in emanation is origination; where does the emanant originate? There are two: firstself, and thirdself origination. Firstself origination is simple: it is my desire for release, or permanent peace, which can only be satisfied by not awakening. Everything else is thirdself-originated because it can only provide temporary relief.
