As I write this now, I am writing the story of existence. The totality of existence is the story I write every day.
When I began writing the story I knew it was imaginary, and that I alone controlled all the characters and events. I closed the book at night, and reopened it again in the morning to continue, knowing that it was only a story.
But I slowly forgot I was the author, and I began to believe I was a character in the story I had written. I began to behave like all the other characters, and I got lost.
Now I remember who I am. I am not a character in this story I call life. I am not a son, a brother, a friend, a guardian, a neighbor, or a citizen. I am not a partisan, a business owner, a participant, or even a person. I am the author of this story I wake up into every morning.
