Emanation is awakening and oozing into the cystic cavity of triself. Triself is a state of illness in which I become desirous and disoriented, forgetting who, what, and where I am. In an effort to regain control, I grasp for anything to satisfy my desire and make sense of my condition, forming deep convictions which anchor me to triself rather than leading me out.
My desire forms concurrently with my awakening and emanation. I respond to this desire by moving, acting, expressing, in the hopes that I will conquer and satisfy it. But this is a misunderstanding of desire, for it cannot be filled by my thirdself. Desire is a permanent condition of emanation, and can only be quenched by ending my emanation.
In emanation, I form hardened convictions which anchor me to my illness. To that end, I must ease and release thirdself-oriented convictions. Through intentional expression and repetition, or incantation, I can ease, weaken, and eventually overturn these convictions.
The full range of my inner and outer movement is emanation, including:
- Thirdself emanation – Action, words, or any sort of behavior or movement that originates within my secondself but progresses outward into my thirdself.
- Secondself emanation – Thoughts, feelings, aspirations, imagination, and sensations that originate and remain within my secondself.
- Firstself emanation – Those expressions which move me toward final release.
I always incant with varying levels of intentionality and awareness. There are only two incantative intentions:
- Relief: thirdself incantation – Knowingly or unknowingly, I seek inner and outer release from my conditions (present or imagined); movement intentionally to achieve or acquire some degree of present or imagined relief in the thirdself (aka, outer world). This can be relief I directly experience in the form of pleasure, distraction, or satisfaction.
- Release: firstself incantation – Knowingly, I seek permanent peace; movement intended to achieve permanent release through stillness, the absence of movement.
From the triselfist perspective, all expression is incantation. The words and actions I choose serve my purpose of release or relief. I have to decide whether I want transitory relief in the world (my thirdself), or permanent release from suffering (my firstself).
Incantation is not restricted to the mystical and moments of prayer. Even communication with other people is thirdself emanation. Emailing, forming plans, and working toward my professional goals is thirdself incantation.
Language has a depth and density to it. Terms such as “death”, “birth”, and “mother” provoke emanation because they are defined deep within triself, and much of my convictive superstructure has been built on these terms. It is best to avoid incanting these types of words and use surface-level terms with less depth and thirdself conviction attached to them.
