I move around constantly in my outer perceptual environment of physical forms and sensations. And similarly, I constantly move around my inner conceptual environment of thoughts, ideas, and feelings. From moment to moment, these two environments are changing.
While my projected outer and inner environments are always changing, they both emanate outward from a center point that does not move or change. Even when I close my eyes, this point does not close; instead, it expands and envelops me whole. No matter how far I stretch the limbs of my body while my eyes are closed, the dark, fixed point lies beyond my reach.
That is because my familiar self of mind and body does not contain a fixed point within my head and behind my eyes. Rather, this fixed point contains my familiar self of mind and body. This body and world I awaken into every day is within the fixed point of awareness I sense in my head.
